Our scheme has been carefully curated to align with DfE guidance and compliance criteria. You can use SPEAK phonics in complete confidence.
Once the entire scheme is available it will be submitted to the DfE for official validation.
Children are taught the 44 unique sounds and how to apply knowledge of letter-sound relationships to decode words.
Phonics sessions are planned and delivered using a consistent approach so that teachers and children feel secure with learning.
Our plans set out clear guidance and expectations for teaching and learning across the Early Years and KS1.
Our daily plans can be used by teachers to set the pace of learning and the teaching blocks ensure progression over time.
Block 1 teaches children to learn single letter sounds, embedding them into their long-term memory through daily recall, and blend these sounds to read words.
Our scheme builds on previous knowledge whilst children learn new sounds and practise reading for fluency.
Our daily phonics sessions teach blending strategies so that children recognise individual sounds in words and embeds blending skills.
Our daily phonics sessions teach children to hear individual sounds and link them to letters, writing them down in the correct order to write words.
Children learn to spell words using known sounds and write sentences using the correct grammar and punctuation.
Tricky words are introduced in groups and spread across the scheme to enable children to build up their bank of tricky words for reading and spelling.
Handwriting and letter formations are taught from the very beginning of the scheme and reinforced through daily writing of words and sentences.
Each sound has a session guide which includes sound and word reading and word writing and guidance on how to deliver reading for comprehension.
Our scheme provides a massive bank of resources that can be used specifically at different stages in the programme to deliver high quality phonics sessions.
Our scheme is focused primarily on the pure learning of phonics and learning is planned to immerse children in phonics skills and can be adapted for children with additional needs.
Our scheme includes assessments, whole school and class tracking and intervention materials so that the needs of all children are met.
Our guides and videos provide specific support and training for teachers and parents in order to give continued professional development.

Copyright update regarding 'Home Learning Resource Packs'
Our standard terms, conditions and copyright rules restrict the direct sharing of our resources through online portals, shared drives, school websites and social media. We also ask that resources are not printed and shared amongst teachers.
However we realise that due to the current climate and the nature of these home learning packs means that these rules are restricting the main purpose of the packs: helping teachers to provide a structured home learning experience for their classes.
With this in mind, this, and our other 'Home Learning Resource Packs' will be exempt from the above rules. We do however ask that the packs are not made available for PUBLIC download through any means and are only shared with your immediate colleagues and the parents of the children in your school. Where possible, please continue to direct other teachers to our website to download the resources for themselves.
These amended rules will remain in place for the duration of the school closures. Once the closures are at an end our standard copyright rules, terms and conditions will come back into place and we would expect all copies of the resources as to be removed from shared drives, parent/teacher portals and all services such as see-saw etc.

SOLO Account Usage: Solo accounts are for use by one teacher/user in a single class setting only. If you are looking to use our resources or any of our schemes such as WellbeingWednesday, Buddy Bots or THINK Maths in a whole school or multiple class setting then a 'Whole School' membership will be required. This is regardless of how many teachers or users are actually 'delivering' the content. Any content intended for use in a whole school or multiple class setting must be supported by a whole school membership.
NOTE: Access to solo memberships (and any resources or other benefits offered by a membership) is restricted to the person whose name is registered on the account (the name provided at sign up) ONLY - the account and the membership belongs to the named person, it cannot be shared with any other person. Content downloaded using a membership is for the use of the person named on the account only. Resources cannot be downloaded and given via any means to anybody else. Accounts registered to none teaching staff such as business managers, office administrators etc. will be closed without refund upon discovery. If a school wishes to pay for an account for a member of staff, the staff members name must be registered to the account, a school payment method can then be used at the checkout using a different name.
